50 men took a dip in a water tank 40 m long and 20 m broad on a religious day. If the average displacement of water by a man is 4 m3, then the rise in the water level in the tank will be:
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Total volume of water displaced = (4 x 50) m3 = 200 m3.

How it is 0.25? I don't understand clearly, plz explain it once.

@Khushi.
By calculating h, we get;
h=200/20*40,
= 1/4,
= 0.25.
By calculating h, we get;
h=200/20*40,
= 1/4,
= 0.25.

Why not we consider a cylindrical shape tank? Then the volume for the cylinder is different.

Where does 4 * 50 came from, 50 is the number of man not a unit.
Water displacement is given, which means the difference of volume is given,
And the rise of the water level means the difference in height.
4m^3 = 40 * 20 * (height difference).
Rise of water level = 0.5 cm.

Volume of the cuboid is = l * b * h.
200 meters cube = 40 * 20 * h.
h = 200/(40*20) m.
h = 0.25 m.
h = 25 cm.
200 meters cube = 40 * 20 * h.
h = 200/(40*20) m.
h = 0.25 m.
h = 25 cm.
