Explanation:

P.W. = 100 x T.D. = 100 x 168 = 600.
R x T 14 x 2

Sum = (P.W. + T.D.) = Rs. (600 + 168) = Rs. 768.

Simple interest = x + 14 × 2/100 = 168.
28x/100 = 168.
28x = 168×100.
28X = 16800.
X = 600.
Then, 600 + 168 = 768.

pw=100*amount/(100+(r*t))

@Kuldeep Amount is different from True discount.

In this problem he mentioned true discount but not amount.

I guess 168 must be added twice. answer must be 936. Could anyone explain this?
