Hi @Anjali,

16*3 = 48+2 = 50 [mixed fraction].

= 50/3-64 = 1500-?

= 1500*64/50/3 = 1500*64*3/50.

= 288000/50 = 5760.

After I made research on this question, there is a mistake I found.

i.e., the question is stated with 16% and the answer has solved with 50/3%. Now up to you which one you will think is right.

Please explain why 50/3 ?

If 3 * 16 + 2 = 50, where the over /3 get? Please explain.

Fraction is to be done in that way.

16 * 2 ÷ 3 = 50÷3.

It tells that earn rs16.66 by investing Rs 64.

By earn rs100 we need to invest in 8 shares(16.66 * 8 = 100) so for earn 1500 need to purchase 8*15 = 120shares.
1share = 64rs.
So total investment =64 * 120 = 5760.
