For 1 year 12% then for 3 years 36%(12+12+12)(this is only for S.I not for C.I).

Take 100 as principal then 36 rs interest for 100 then,

5400..............?(Principal).

(5400/36)x100 = 15000.

One year int is 36 for 100 so total int is 5400 so 5400*100/36 = 15000.

Then what is the formula for compound interest?

SIMPLE INTEREST = 5400.
T = 3.
R = 12.
P = ?

S.I = P*T*R/100.

THEREFORE P = S.I*100/T*R.
= 5400*100/12*3.
= 15000.

---> 15000*12% = 1800.

----> 1800*3 = 5400.

Answer : 15000.

5400/3 = 1800 (one year intrest).

Hence principal amount = 1800/.12 = 15000.

36% ----> 5400 then 1% ----> 5400/36 =150.
100%---->x
So, x = 150 * 100.
=15000.
