1.
A train running at the speed of 60 km/hr crosses a pole in 9 seconds. What is the length of the train?
120 metres
180 metres
324 metres
150 metres
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Speed = 60 x 5 m/sec = 50 m/sec.
18 3

Length of the train = (Speed x Time).

Length of the train = 50 x 9 m = 150 m.

5/18 means 5 meters/18 seconds so 5/18 is the conversion of 1km/h.

Thank you.

@All.

Here, is my expplanation.

The train runs at 60 km/hr which means it will reach 60 km in 60 mins.
therefore 1 km/min = 1000m/60s = 16.66m/1s,
The train crosses 16.66 metres for each second.
So 16.66 * 9 = 150.

To find the length of the train, we can use the formula: length = (speed × time).
Given the speed is 60 km/hr and it crosses a pole in 9 seconds.
The length of the train would be 60 km/hr × (9 seconds ÷ 3600 seconds) = 0.15 km or 150 meters.

60km/hr X (9s x 1min/60s x 1hr/60min) = 60km/hr * 2.5x10^-3hr.
km/hr * hr = km.
So, the answer is 0.15km or 150m.

See here :
1km=1000meters
1 hr=3600 sec.

By dividing both meters and seconds here we get =1000/3600.
At final we get 5/18.
Length = (speed×time).
L=(60×5/18).
So here we get = 50/3.
Then finally calculate the total length of the train = (50/3 × 9).
M = 150.

Thank you

Length = speed * time,
L=60 * 5/18,
= 50/3 * 9,
= 150 meters.
