Let the number be"x"
Here the ques clearly says that,
One third=1/3.
One fourth=1/4.
One-third of one-fourth of a number is 15.
i.e 1/3*1/4*x=15(in between one third and one fourth "of" is there."of" indicates multiplication(*)).
Now,
1/12*x=15.
x=12*15.
x=180.
Now he is asking three tenth number
3/10*x=3/10*180=54.
Thats it. Those who didn't understand make a comment.

Can anyone help me to solve this?
The sum of four numbers is 64. If you add to the first number, 3 is subtracted from the second number, the third is multiplied by 3 and the fourth is divided 3, then the all the results are equal. What is the difference between the largest and smallest of the original numbers?

@R.Mohana Jayanti.
One third of one fourth means = 1/3*1/4 = 1/12.
In problem they given that one third of one fourth is equal to 15.
So 15 = 1/12.
= 12*15.
= 180.
One third of one fourth means = 1/3*1/4 = 1/12.
In problem they given that one third of one fourth is equal to 15.
So 15 = 1/12.
= 12*15.
= 180.

4 and 3 is undergoing the 1 and if we get cross connection with simple mathematics its addition of 4&3 and we get 12. Try to tech and understanding.

The question said 1/3 of 1/4 of x is 15.
To get x we need to increase 15 by 4 times, we get 60, and then we need to increase 60 by 3 times to get x.
To get x we need to increase 15 by 4 times, we get 60, and then we need to increase 60 by 3 times to get x.

3/10 is taken because it is asked in the question that "What is the three-tenth of the number" and "Three-tenth corresponds to 3/10.

Go from answer to question !
If we take 54 it is 3/10 then divide 54 by 3 i.e. 54/3 =18*10=180.
If we take 54 it is 3/10 then divide 54 by 3 i.e. 54/3 =18*10=180.

I'm trying to prove it but its failing.
1/3 x 1/4 x 54 = 4.5, it's not giving 15 how that?
1/3 x 1/4 x 54 = 4.5, it's not giving 15 how that?

@Vishwak.
In Question: three-tenth becomes 3/10 of that number is 180.
So, 3/10*180 = 54.

Here we are asked to find the 3/10 of the number. The number obtained is 180. So 3/10*180.
