They are asking for valid votes.
Valid votes are 80% which is equal to 6000. In these 6000 votes A got 55% and the remaining valid votes are 25%. So the answer is 25% of 6000.

In the question is asking how many valid votes did the other candidate got so 20%are invalid means 80% so it should be 80-55=25.
Or not because its talking bout valid votes?

Total votes = 7500
Invalid votes = 20%
=>20/100 * 7500
= 1500.
Valid votes = 7500-1500 => 6000,
55% of 6000= 3300,
45%(other candidate)= 6000- 3300,
= 2700.
Invalid votes = 20%
=>20/100 * 7500
= 1500.
Valid votes = 7500-1500 => 6000,

Try this method
Invalid votes = 20*7500/100=1500
Total Valid Votes = 7500-1500=6000
Candidate A got 55*6000/100=3300
Candidate B valid votes = 6000-3300=2700
Invalid votes = 20*7500/100=1500
Total Valid Votes = 7500-1500=6000
Candidate A got 55*6000/100=3300
Candidate B valid votes = 6000-3300=2700

@All.
(100-20)% = 80% of valid votes.
80/100*7500 = 6000,
Then for one candidate it is 55% question for other so,(100-55)% = 45%,
So,
45/100 * 6000 = 2700.
(100-20)% = 80% of valid votes.
80/100*7500 = 6000,
Then for one candidate it is 55% question for other so,(100-55)% = 45%,
So,
45/100 * 6000 = 2700.

How came 45%.
As invalid votes are 20% we get 80% valid votes.
55% for one candidate then only 25% for other voter that are valid.
Can anyone explain it?

As per the question:
55% out of valid vote which is 80% (since 20% vote is invalid)
Therefore, 80% - 55% = 25% (valid vote left)
So, 25/100 * 6000 = 1500.

Therefore, 80% - 55% = 25% (valid vote left)
So, 25/100 * 6000 = 1500.

55% of votes to one person and 20% are invalid votes 55% + 20% = 75%. Other person get 25% votes. Why 45%, why don't removed those 20% votes from 100%?
