Total invalid votes = 20%.
Then valid votes = 80% out of which 55% for one candidate and 45% for the other candidate.
Total votes = 7500;
number of valid votes= 7500x(80/100) = 6000.
We know that the other candidate got 45% of the valid votes,
6000 x 45/100 = 2700.

In general elections lets take 100% of the polling results. Candidate 1 won 55% of the votes, and the remaining votes were only 45% left.

In this poling results, there are 20% invalid, so if we remove the total number of invalid votes, it will be;

20% of 7500 (total votes).

It can be calculated as 20/100 * 7500 = 6000.

So 6000 is the total no of valid votes.

MAIN TARGET is to calculate 2nc candidate's number of votes.

It can be done as 45% of 6000.

45/100 * 6000 = FINAL ANSWER = 2700.

So, candidate 2 received 2700.

Then for one candidate it is 55% question for other so,(100-55)% = 45%,
So,
45/100 * 6000 = 2700.

Total votes = 7500
Invalid votes = 20%
=>20/100 * 7500

Valid votes = 7500-1500 => 6000,
55% of 6000= 3300,
45%(other candidate)= 6000- 3300,
= 2700.

Votes got by other candidate is simply , 7500 * 4/5 * 9/20 = 2700 votes ..

Here;
7500 * 4/5 is the count of valid votes and 7500 * 4/5 * 9/20 is the votes got by another candidate.
Since the first candidate got 55% votes, the other got 45% votes which is 9/20.

Here is my explanation:

A = 55%
B = (100 - 55)%
= 45%.

20% Invalid votes.
So, (100-20)% = 80%.
valid votes for other candidate = 45%o f 80%7500.
= 45/100 * 80/100 * 7500.
= 2700.

Base value 100% the invalid votes are 20% so the valid votes are 80% next one got 55%
So,55% of 80% = 44%.

The winner is 44% and the loser is 36% . The question is the total no of other candidates,
36% = x(unknown value).
100%= 7500(total votes), cross multiple
X*100 = 36 * 7500.
So, x is 2700.

80% of the votes are valid, while 20% are not valid.

So, 80% of 7500 is 6000, while 20% of 7500 is 1500.
From these 80% valid votes (6000), 'A' has 55% of the valid votes in it (3300), while 'B' has 45% of the valid votes in it (2700).

The answer rite.

First deduct the invalid 20% from the total 7500 =6000.

So the other candidate valid vote is 45/100*6000=2700 (since 55-100=45).
