9.
A student multiplied a number by | 3 | instead of | 5 | . |
5 | 3 |
What is the percentage error in the calculation?
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Let the number be x.
Then, error = | 5 | x - | 3 | x = | 16 | x. |
3 | 5 | 15 |
Error% = | ![]() |
16x | x | 3 | x 100 | ![]() |
15 | 5x |

There is two number is given x and y,
So first find the difference between this two no. Y-x=z,
And than for find % error,
We have to find what % of y in z,
Then;
Y/z*100.
So first find the difference between this two no. Y-x=z,
And than for find % error,
We have to find what % of y in z,
Then;
Y/z*100.

If the number is x then,
=>x*3/5-x-5/3 = 16/15.
I got 16/15 is the difference of that numbers then how I can go to next step to get the answer can any explain clearly.

Let's say the number is = 100.
3/5 * 100 = 60 and 5/3 * 100 = 166.66,
Error = 166.66-60 = 106.66.
Error% = error/true value.
=106.66/(5/3),
= 64( for percetage i.e 64%).
3/5 * 100 = 60 and 5/3 * 100 = 166.66,
Error = 166.66-60 = 106.66.
Error% = error/true value.
=106.66/(5/3),
= 64( for percetage i.e 64%).

Error = true value- false value i.e 16/15
true value is 3/5
now question raise that 16/15 is what percent of 3/5
so
x% = 3/5*16/15
x% = 16/25 i.e 0.64
so x = 64%
true value is 3/5
now question raise that 16/15 is what percent of 3/5
so
x% = 3/5*16/15
x% = 16/25 i.e 0.64
so x = 64%

Let take the number be 30.
30*(5/3) = 50.
30*(3/5) = 18.
The difference between both which is the error value is 32.
To find error percentage;
(32/50) * 100 = 64%.
30*(5/3) = 50.
30*(3/5) = 18.
The difference between both which is the error value is 32.
To find error percentage;
(32/50) * 100 = 64%.

I understand multiplication errors but what if someone substracted a number instead of adding?Can we still calculate %error? If can't why?
Please explain someone.

Just take LCM OF 3and 5, assume the number is 15.
So, if multiplied by 3/5 it will be 9 if by 5/3 it will be 25. So, the diff is 16.
Percentage 16/25 * 100% = 64%.
So, if multiplied by 3/5 it will be 9 if by 5/3 it will be 25. So, the diff is 16.
Percentage 16/25 * 100% = 64%.

Let, the number be 60 we can consider any number,
3/5*60 = 36.
5/3*60 = 100.
error = 100 - 36 = 64.
For percentage = error/total * 100.
So, 64/100*100 = 64%.
3/5*60 = 36.
5/3*60 = 100.
error = 100 - 36 = 64.
For percentage = error/total * 100.
So, 64/100*100 = 64%.

Let, X be the exact value.
And Y be the error value.
Now, the formula for percentage error= (X-Y)/X *100%
{(5/3-3/5)÷5/3}*100%.
= (16/15*3/5)*100%,
= 64%.
And Y be the error value.
Now, the formula for percentage error= (X-Y)/X *100%
{(5/3-3/5)÷5/3}*100%.
= (16/15*3/5)*100%,
= 64%.

Step1: 5/3 * 100 = 166.66~167
Step2: 3/5 * 100 = 60
Step3: Difference of 167 and 60 i.e; 107
Step4: Error value = (error/true) * 100,
(107/166) * 100 = 64%.
Step2: 3/5 * 100 = 60
Step3: Difference of 167 and 60 i.e; 107
Step4: Error value = (error/true) * 100,
(107/166) * 100 = 64%.
