Rajeev buys good worth Rs. 6650. He gets a rebate of 6% on it. After getting the rebate, he pays sales tax @ 10%. Find the amount he will have to pay for the goods.
Rs. 6876.10
Rs. 6999.20
Rs. 6654
Rs. 7000
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Rebate = 6% of Rs. 6650 = Rs. 6 x 6650 = Rs. 399.
100

Sales tax = 10% of Rs. (6650 - 399) = Rs. 10 x 6251 = Rs. 625.10
100

Final amount = Rs. (6251 + 625.10) = Rs. 6876.10

Total price = 6650 and discount 6% = 6650-6/100 = 399 and 6650-399 = 6251 include tax 10% = 10/100*6251 = 625.10 then add 6251+625.10 than answer.

Total price = 6650.

This is common for both tax and rebate.

Rebate = 6% reduce the Total price then.

Tax = 10% increase the Total price.

So we take (10%-6%) = 4%, (4/100)*6650+6650 = 6676.10.
