Simran started a software business by investing Rs. 50,000. After six months, Nanda joined her with a capital of Rs. 80,000. After 3 years, they earned a profit of Rs. 24,500. What was Simran's share in the profit?
Rs. 9,423
Rs. 10,250
Rs. 12,500
Rs. 10,500
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Simran : Nanda = (50000 x 36) : (80000 x 30) = 3 : 4.

Simran's share = Rs. 24500 x 3 = Rs. 10,500.

It should be 50000*6+80000*30 because within 6mnth Simran invested that much money.

P, Q, R enter into a partnership & their share is in the ratio 1/2:1/3:1/4, after two months, P withdraws half of the capitals & after 10 months, a profit of Rs 378 is divided among them. What is Q's share?

Please share why the investment has taken 12 months whereas the profit counted after 10 months.

A, B and C enter into partnership by making investments in the ratio 3 : 5: 7. After a year, C invests another Rs 337600 while A withdraws Rs 45600. The ratio of investments then changes to 24 : 59 : 167. How much does A invest initially?

Can anyone solve this?

If this is a question of partnership, we have always learnt that in case there is mention of partnership deed, we take ratio as equal.

Why in this question have we divided the profit in equivalent ratio?

Bhagatsingh it is 36 months because 12 months make a year and the year given was 3 years.

So, 3 * 12 months = 36 months.

When investments of all the partners are 'for the same time', the gain or loss or liability is distributed among the partners in the ratio of their investments.

Let's assume that K is not variable, and K = 1,000.

Therefore, Simran 's investment = 50K*36/36.
Therefore, Nanda 's investment = 80K*30/36.

Let's find ratio of investments,

=> Simran : Nanda = (50K*36/36) : (80K*30/36).
=> Simran : Nanda = (50K*36) : (80K*30).

=> Simran : Nanda = (5*6) : (8*5).
=> Simran : Nanda = 3 : 4.

=> Share of Simran in Profit at end of 3 years.

= 3*24500/(3+4).
= 3*24500/7.
= 3*3500.
= Rs. 10500.

@Vivekanandh.

One year = 12 months. So, 3 years means 12*3=36.
