Another possibility is there are 3 series (8,7,11), (12,14,17) & (17,22,--)
Difference between first number of each series are 4,5.
Difference between second number of each series are 7,8.
So last number of each series can be
11, 17((last number of series 1)+6), 24 ((last number of series 2)+7).
Difference between first number of each series are 4,5.
Difference between second number of each series are 7,8.
So last number of each series can be
11, 17((last number of series 1)+6), 24 ((last number of series 2)+7).

There are two series ( 8,11,14, 17, 20) and ( 7, 12, 17, 22) increasing by 3 and 5 respectively.
8 + 3 = 11
11 + 3 = 14
14 + 3 = 17
17 + 3 = 20 => correct option.
And,
(7 , 12, 17, 22)
7+5= 12.
5+12= 17,
17+ 22 = 39.
So the right answer is 20.
Therefore B is the right option.
8 + 3 = 11
11 + 3 = 14
14 + 3 = 17
17 + 3 = 20 => correct option.
And,
(7 , 12, 17, 22)
7+5= 12.
5+12= 17,
17+ 22 = 39.
So the right answer is 20.
Therefore B is the right option.

There are 2 series.
(8, 11, 14, 17, ?) with difference of 3.
(7, 12, 17, 22) with difference of 5.
So we have to find out series with diference 3.
Separate the given series in these two ways, you can get your answer.

First series of words increased by 3,
i.e, 8+3 = 11,
11+3 = 14,
14+3 = 17,
17+3 = 20
And second series of words are increased by 5.
i.e,
7+5 = 12,
12+5 = 17,
17+5 = 22.
i.e, 8+3 = 11,
11+3 = 14,
14+3 = 17,
17+3 = 20
And second series of words are increased by 5.
i.e,
7+5 = 12,
12+5 = 17,
17+5 = 22.

8,11,14,17,20,..answer 23.
7,12,17,22,.... answer 27.
All differ by 3 and 5.
23 + 27 = 40 ÷ 2 (average),
= 20.

2*1=2,
2*2=4+1 = 5,
2*5=10-1 = 9,
2*9=18+1 = 19,
2*19=38-1 = 37,
2*37=74+1 = 75.
2*2=4+1 = 5,
2*5=10-1 = 9,
2*9=18+1 = 19,
2*19=38-1 = 37,
2*37=74+1 = 75.
