Explanation from my end : Why the answer cant be 114.

Since the alternate numbers difference is 5,3,13,3,29,3 ..

In these diffenences the alternate numbers have differences as 5-13 = 8, 13-29=16, so the next difference can be 24. So 24+29=53.

So 61+53= 114.

@Ajesh

I didn't read your explanation fully. Anyway 114 is not provided as one of the option.

You are supposed to tick an option from the given alternatives. In exams, deriving your own answer won't workout man.

Anyway, All the best for keeping your mind sharp. Great future is waiting for you! Have a nice day!!

Alternate set (i.e)--> (5,13,29,61) Numbers are multiplied by 2 and increased by 3.

5*2 = 10+3 = 13.
13*2 = 26+3 = 29.
29*2 = 58+3 = 61.

Alternate set (i.e)--> (10,26,58,122) Numbers are multiplied by 2 and increased by 6.

10*2 = 20+6 = 26.
26*2 = 52+6 = 58.
58*2 = 116+6 = 122.

After multiple by 2 it was 122 and then we need to add 3 then the answer will be 125?

Am I right?

(5,10) = 5 * 2 = 10 (5,10).
(13,26) = 13 * 2 = 26 (13,26).
(29,58) = 29 * 2 = 58 (29,58).
(61,_) = 61 * 2 = 122 (61,122).

You can as well take as two series Numbers.

Group 1: (5, 13,29,61)
So, 5+8=13
13+16=29
29+32=61

Group 2:
(10,26,58,.......)
So, 10+16=26
26+32=58
58+64=122.

And the next number is 122 even when you're multiplying the numbers by x2(+3) in a single series.
