27.
On dividing a number by 56, we get 29 as remainder. On dividing the same number by 8, what will be the remainder ?
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Formula: (Divisor*Quotient) + Remainder = Dividend.
Soln:
(56*Q)+29 = D -------(1)
D%8 = R -------------(2)
From equation(2),
((56*Q)+29)%8 = R.
=> Assume Q = 1.
=> (56+29)%8 = R.
=> 85%8 = R
=> 5 = R.

The most simple way to solve these "n"type question is to put the value.
Like in this example. :suppose that the no. is 85. When we divide it by 56, the remainder is 29, as in this que. , now divide 85 by 8, we find 5 as a remainder.
So we can do this type of que. in just some seconds. And no need of paper or pen.

It's quite easy, let the no be x, and the remainder needed be y.
Form the equation as ( (x-29)/56) = ((x-y)/8).
Solve it, and you will get equation of the form.
7y-29=6x.
Now keep filling the values in the options in the place of y.
The resultant should be a multiple of x, hence you will get the answer as 5.

Let the number be X.
On dividing X by 56 we get remainder 29.
That means X-29 is divisible by 56.
Co primes for 56 are 7, 8 that means 7*8 = 56.
So X-29 is divisible by 7 and 8.
That mean X-29/8 gives a reminder 0.
This means X/8 remainder-29/8 remainder =0.
X/8 remainder - 5 = 0.
X/8 remainder = 5.
On dividing X by 56 we get remainder 29.
That means X-29 is divisible by 56.

Let the number is x and the quotient is y.
So as per the Euclidean Algorithm.
x = 56*y + 29.
Now Splitting it into multiples of 8.
x = 8 * 7 * y + 8*3 + 5.
Taking 8 common from the above equation.
x = 8(7y+3) + 5.
So we get 5 at the remainder place as per Euclidean Algorithm. So the correct answer is 5.

Let's make this sum very simple by making a small assumption,
(Since they said the no is divisible by 56 and leaves the remainder 29)
The first no that is divisible by 56 is 56 × 1 = 56.
As they said it leaves the remainder 29.
-->56 + 29 = 85.
Which is divided by 8 so leaves the remainder 5.
Answer:b)5

This question is to simple. My solution follows.
Remainder / given number= 29÷8=5.
This method is applicable to this type of question.
For more example
On dividing a number by 5, we get 3 as remainder. What will the remainder when the square of this number is divided by 5?
3*3=9.
So 9/5=4.
Remainder / given number= 29÷8=5.
This method is applicable to this type of question.

Let us take the number as X and we know divisor is 56 and the remainder is 29. Therefore , for instance lets consider the following math,
56 ) X ( 2
112
------
29
------
Which means X - 112 = 29. Therefore X = 112+29 = 141.
Now divide 141 with 8.
The remainder is 5.
56 ) X ( 2
112
------
29
------
Which means X - 112 = 29. Therefore X = 112+29 = 141.
Now divide 141 with 8.
The remainder is 5.

Since 56 is divisible by 8, the remainder of a number divisible by 56 is taken as the dividend divisible by 8 to get the remainder when divisible by 8.
Given that a number divisible by 56 leaves remainder of 29. By the above explanation divide 29 by 8, then we get the remainder 5.

Its simple method:
Number(x) which or divisible by 56 reminder is 29.
56 can completely divisible by 8. So that number (x) is also completely divisible by 8. So forget about that x.
Next go for reminder 29. It is divisible by 8 gave 5 as remainder. So the answer is 5.

Dividend = divisor*quotient+remainder.
Let dividend = x.
Divisor = 56.
Remainder = 29.
x = 56*a + 29.
This equation clearly indicates sub division of x.
That means x is divisible by 8 and 56*a is also divisible by 8 but when we divide 29 by 8 we get 5 as remainder.
