On dividing a number by 56, we get 29 as remainder. On dividing the same number by 8, what will be the remainder ?
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Formula: (Divisor*Quotient) + Remainder = Dividend.
Soln:
(56*Q)+29 = D -------(1)
D%8 = R -------------(2)
From equation(2),
((56*Q)+29)%8 = R.
=> Assume Q = 1.
=> (56+29)%8 = R.
=> 85%8 = R
=> 5 = R.

D = 56Q+29 ----> (1).
D = 8q+r -----> (2).
Convert (1) to the form of (2).
D = 56Q+29 = (8*7)Q+24+5 = (8*7)Q+(8+3)+5 = 8(7Q+3)+5.
Therefore, remainder is 5.
D = 8q+r -----> (2).
Convert (1) to the form of (2).
D = 56Q+29 = (8*7)Q+24+5 = (8*7)Q+(8+3)+5 = 8(7Q+3)+5.
Therefore, remainder is 5.

Since 56 is divisible by 8, the remainder of a number divisible by 56 is taken as the dividend divisible by 8 to get the remainder when divisible by 8.
Given that a number divisible by 56 leaves remainder of 29. By the above explanation divide 29 by 8, then we get the remainder 5.

x%56=29.
(x-29) %56=0.
(x-29) %8=0.
x%8=29%8.
X=5.

Simply divide 29 / 8 = 5 (remainder).

Hi,
Firstly let the number is 'x'. And quotient is k then,
x = 56k + 29 we can write ok the number is same in second cases that is 'x' then now taking 8 as a common so x = 8 (7k + 3) + 5 so 5 is your remainder now.

Hi,
The same number is divided by two divisor, 56 & 8.
Now, 56/8 = Divisible. So, 56 is multiple of 8.
Since, Remainder for 56=29>8 (smaller divisor).
Remainder for 8 is 8) 29 (4.
24
Required remainder 5.

Let y be the number divided.
Therefore, y = 56q+29.
= 8*7q+8*3+5.
= 8(7q+3)+5.
So remainder is 5.
Therefore, y = 56q+29.
= 8*7q+8*3+5.
= 8(7q+3)+5.
So remainder is 5.
