If the product 4864 x 9 P 2 is divisible by 12, then the value of P is:
2
5
6
8
None of these
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Clearly, 4864 is divisible by 4.

So, 9P2 must be divisible by 3. So, (9 + P + 2) must be divisible by 3.

P = 1.

But 4864 is not divisible by 3 as per the condition of the number should be divisible by both 3 & 4.

@Mayuri.

P can take 3 possible values 1, 4, 7; none of which are in the options.

@Arul.

For the divisibility rule of 12 we must take rule 3 and rule 4 because 3*4 = 12.

So, it must satisfy both rule.
1. Let's take p = 1.
9 + p + 1 = 9 + 1 + 1 = 12.
We can divide 12 by both 3 and 4. So the condition is satisfied.

2. If p = 4
9 + p + 1 = 9 + 4 + 1 = 14 .
It is not divisible by both 3 and 4 . So that's why we take p = 1.
Thank you.
