Which of the following fractions is greater than | 3 | and less than | 5 | ? |
4 | 6 |
Answer: Option
Explanation:
3 | = 0.75, | 5 | = 0.833, | 1 | = 0.5, | 2 | = 0.66, | 4 | = 0.8, | 9 | = 0.9. |
4 | 6 | 2 | 3 | 5 | 10 |
Clearly, 0.8 lies between 0.75 and 0.833.

Simply by adding numerators and denominators we get middle fraction.
3/4+5/6 = 3+5/4+6 = 8/10 = 4/5.
3/4+5/6 = 3+5/4+6 = 8/10 = 4/5.

We can find the inverse of the numbers which is easy to find. For Ex here inverse of 3/4 is 4/3 = 1.33 and 6/5 is 1.2. The question is greater than 3/4 and less than 5/6.
As we have inverse the numbers inverse the question also implies greater than 3/4 is less than 4/3 and less than 5/6 implies more than 6/5.
Only 5/4 inverse of 4/5 fits here.

We can take lcm of all then multiply a, b, c, d, question part with lcm you 'll get the answer. Anybody have doubt?

We have to find the fraction which is greater than 3/4 and less then 5/6.
In case of numerators 4 is greater than 3 and less than 5 and in case of denominators 5 is greater than 4 and smaller than 6,
So, the answers is C) 4/5.

Numerator being in between 3 & 5 and denominator being in between 4 & 6 may help everywhere, say if there was an option 9/11 instead of 4/5 then we had to opt for that coz 9/11 is .818181... which lies in between .75 & .833.
We also can go for this approach, by cross multiplying we can find which is greater,
eg: 3/4 = 1/2
3*2 = 1*4
6 = 4.
So 6 > 4
=> 3/4 > 1/2
So 1/2 is not an option. So we can continue...

Simple way. For this this problem alone.
Greater than 3/4 and less than 5/6.
Numerator is 3 and 5 = 4 (in between).
Denominator is 4 and 6 = 5 (in between).
So the is 4/5.
For time constraint so simple na.

0.66 is not lie between 0.75 and 0.833, because 0.66 is less than 0.75.
