The angle between the minute hand and the hour hand of a clock when the time is 4.20, is:
10°
20°
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Angle traced by hour hand in 13 hrs = 360 x 13 ° = 130°.
3 12 3

Angle traced by min. hand in 20 min. = 360 x 20 ° = 120°.
60

Required angle = (130 - 120)° = 10°.

Just use this formula.
A = 30 * H - 5.5 * M.
Where;
A = angle.
H = hour.
M = minutes.

Can we do like this;
(20/60)*30 = 10?

Short trick for these ans.

Take a ratio of 4.20=1:5 then there is a formula, when ur ratio is 1:5 then, divide minutes by 2
i.e 20÷2 = 10.

Also when ratio is 1:8 then (minute-hours) * 2
Also for the ratio 1:3, = minute * 4+minute ÷2
Ratio 1:10, θ = minute*2.5.
1:4then θ= minute*2.
1:6 θ = minute ÷2.

For 1 min the Hr hand moves 0.5,
So, the angle between Hr and Min hand is =0,
Since Min Hand moves 20 mins. We have 20*0.5=10.
Therefore 0 + 10 = 10.

None of this is required. I use a basic formula, which is the absolute value of 30H- 5.5m.
Therefore, Angle = (30x4) - (5.5x20).
= 120-110.
= 10 °.

Formula ( 30×Hrs - 11/2min),
= 30 × 4 - 11/2 × 20.
= 120 - 110.
= 10°.

The hands initially make an angle of 0 degrees.
But as the hour hand rotates 0.5 degrees per minute,
it will have made an additional 20*0.5 degrees = 10.0 degrees.
i.e. the total angle between the hands = 0+10 = 10 degrees.

For 1 minute = 0.25 degree.
For 60 minutes = 15 degrees.
Then, for 20 minutes = 20 * 0.25 = 5 degrees.
Then, 15 - 5 = 10 degrees.
