At 3:40, the hour hand and the minute hand of a clock form an angle of:
120°
125°
130°
135°
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Angle traced by hour hand in 12 hrs. = 360°.

Angle traced by it in 11 hrs = 360 x 11 ° = 110°.
3 12 3

Angle traced by minute hand in 60 min. = 360°.

Angle traced by it in 40 min. = 360 x 40 ° = 240°.
60

Required angle (240 - 110)° = 130°.

@Dheeraj.

For angle between 11:20.
30*11-11/2*20=220 degree or (360-220=140degree for obtuse angle).

Formula: (+)(-)A = 30(H)-5.5(min).

= 30*3-5.5*40.

= 90-220.

= 130 degree answer.

Answer should be 140.

Angle between 3 & 40 is 160 degree + 40/2 = 140 degree.

Convert the whole time in hour.

3 hour+40 min=3h+(40/60) h=22/6=11/3 hour.

I don't understand Angle traced by it in 11 hrs = 360x11° = 110°.

For hour hand.

Convert min into hr keep 3 without change 3+(40/60)=11/3.

°=11/2 min.-30H.
So,11*40/2-30*3,
°= 220-90,
= 130(answer).

3 hour is 30*3=90 and minute 40*5.5,
=220 and different is 220-90=130.

While considering 3.40 we take 40 mins = 40/60 = 2/3.

So 3*2/3 = 11/3.

The Angle between hour and minute hand is |(X*30) - ((Y*11)/2)|.
