1 hour takes 30 degrees given 8am-2pm 6 hours then 6 (30) = 180 degrees.

It's a simple way;
12hours = 360°.
6(half of 12) = 180°(half of 360).
12hours = 360°.

=8 * 30 = 240,
=2 * 30= 60,
= 240-60 = 180°.

Each hour has 30 degrees. So, 8 to 2 there are 6 hours. So 30*6=180.
