If a quarter kg of potato costs 60 paise, how many paise will 200 gm cost?

 [A]. 48 paise [B]. 54 paise [C]. 56 paise [D]. 72 paise

Explanation:

Let the required weight be x kg.

Less weight, Less cost (Direct Proportion) 250 : 200 :: 60 : x 250 x x = (200 x 60) x= (200 x 60) 250 x = 48.

 Hairsh said: (Jul 9, 2011) Quarter kg = 1/4 of 1kg=1/4*1000g=250g.

 Mini said: (Jul 18, 2011) Lets do it in a simple way;- As we all knw quater means 250gm Now 250gm potato= 60 paise :. 1 gm of potato=60/250= 6/25 paise so 200gm of potato= 200*6/25= 48 paise

 Sindhu said: (Aug 27, 2013) For 1/4 kg = 60ps. For 1kg = 240ps, (for 1000gms = 240ps). For 200gms = 240/5 = 48ps (5 b/c 1000/5 =200).

 Arun said: (Apr 6, 2014) For 1 kg, (250*4) = 60*4 paise. 1 kg is 5 times 200gm. So for 200 (60*4)/5 = 48.

 Buddhika said: (Dec 31, 2014) 60/250*200 = 48. 250 = 1/4 quarter.

 Vijay said: (Aug 28, 2016) (200g/250g) * 60p = 48paise.

 Arpita said: (Oct 7, 2016) 250 g = 60 paise, 200 g = ?, And cross multiply, you'll get 12000 = 250x, x = 12000/250 = 48 paise.

 Sanoop Daniel said: (Nov 13, 2017) @Sukh. Quarter means 25%. The 25% price of potatoes is 60 paise. Therefore,price of 1kg = Rs.2.40 (by solving x*25/100 = 60). 200 gm means 200/1000. Then, price of 200 gm = 2.40*200/1000 = 48 paisa.

 Rahul Kumar said: (Sep 26, 2018) This is my solution. 1kg=1000gm. quarter 1kg =1 ÷ 4*1000=250gm. 250gm potato=60paisa. 200gm potato=?. First of all convert gm to kg. 60paise * 1000gm ÷ 250=240kg. 1kg = 240rupee. 240rupee * 200gm ÷ 1000gm = 48paisa. 200gm = 48 paisa.
