If a quarter kg of potato costs 60 paise, how many paise will 200 gm cost?
48 paise
54 paise
56 paise
72 paise
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Let the required weight be x kg.

Less weight, Less cost (Direct Proportion)

250 : 200 :: 60 : x       250 x x = (200 x 60)

x= (200 x 60)
250

x = 48.

EASIEST EXPLANATION

If 1/4kg of the potato costs 60.
Meaning 1 kg we divide 60 by 1/4 (60÷1/4),
(60 * 4/1)=240,
So 1kg costs 240,
What of 200gm.

Change 200gm to kgs. Ikg =1000gm.
So for 200gm to kgs =200 divided by 1000 (200/1000) =0.2.
So for 0.2kgs it will be 0.2 * 240 paise.
=48 paise.

This is my solution.

1kg=1000gm.
quarter 1kg =1 ÷ 4*1000=250gm.
250gm potato=60paisa.
200gm potato=?.

First of all convert gm to kg.

60paise * 1000gm ÷ 250=240kg.
1kg = 240rupee.
240rupee * 200gm ÷ 1000gm = 48paisa.
200gm = 48 paisa.

@Sukh.

Quarter means 25%.
The 25% price of potatoes is 60 paise.

Therefore,price of 1kg = Rs.2.40 (by solving x*25/100 = 60).
200 gm means 200/1000.

Then, price of 200 gm = 2.40*200/1000 = 48 paisa.

250 g = 60 paise,
200 g = ?,
And cross multiply, you'll get 12000 = 250x,
x = 12000/250 = 48 paise.

60/250*200 = 48.
250 = 1/4 quarter.

For 1 kg, (250*4) = 60*4 paise.

1 kg is 5 times 200gm.

So for 200 (60*4)/5 = 48.
