If the given year is a non-leap year then the first day is the same as the last day of the year.
For leap year last day will be the next day of the starting day of the year.

365 day = 1 year, day364/7days = 54weeks, balance 1 day that will be conce considered as ODD days.
If it is leap year total no of days for = 366, 364/7 = 54 weeks balnce 2 days.
If it is leap year total no of days for = 366, 364/7 = 54 weeks balnce 2 days.

@Mahesh your method is nice but if there is large variation in years we want to go for concept based solution for ex 15 aug 2012 is wednesday then what is the day of 15th aug 1935

How to find an leap year by seeing an year. Ex. 2006 is which year?is it leap year or ordinary year. If it is leap year how can we say it is leap year. If not how can we say not?

2000+9+jan1;
0+(9/4)+1
=(2+7)+1(2=leap year,7=non leap year)
=(2*2+7*1)+1
=4+7+1=12/7=5 odd days
= Friday
