The average of 20 numbers is zero. Of them, at the most, how many may be greater than zero?

Average of 20 numbers = 0.
Sum of 20 numbers (0 x 20) = 0.
It is quite possible that 19 of these numbers may be positive and if their sum is a then 20th number is (-a).

What if the numbers are
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,-1,-2,-3,-4,-5,-6,-7,-8,-9,-10
then average =0
so the answer may be 20 right?

@Jeevanandham.
your logic was nice but the answer will be 10 in your case which is True but they asked for" At the most" So you need to tell maximum possible numbers that can be greater than zero in order to maintain the sum zero :).

In question it is asking for at most how many number Greater then zero.
So answer can't be 10.

@AJAY can give 20 numbers, but the last 20th number average is 0, so we don't no 19 number lesser then 0 are greater then 0, so the question is range.

The question says how many "MAY BE" greater than zero. SO all the numbers MAY BE zero so none are greater than zero so the answer is zero.

I agree with @Swathy, there might be 10 +ve nos. and 10 -ve nos.
And questions says at most nos. greater than 0 i.e., at most +ve nos. i.e., maximum +ve nos. then it can be 10 too, why 19 then.

The answer can be any of the positive number which cannot be defined. Because we can make different assumptions based on our view through which we are seeking the problem. Options may not be available regarding the question.

Lets consider negative 19 numbers whose sum is -20 and consider there is only one positive number '20', then we will get average of 0.
Here, number greater than zero is only one.
