TCS PATTERN & INTERVIEW - 28 MAY 2007 - GUNTUR

Posted By : Narendra Rating : +6, -1
Hi Friends

Now im very proud to say that im placed in TCS.

Written test: test pattern: 3 sections

1st section: Verbal: (32 questions, 30 min)
10 synonyms, 10 antonyms, one reading comprehension, a paragraph with fill in the blanks with appropriate words.

2nd section: Quantitative: (38 questions, 40 min)
all from previous papers, the previous papers are more than enough. To get the papers refer to the sites

3rd section: Critical Rreasoning: (12 questions, 30 min)
it isa little bit tough round from gre 12th edition model test papers 1 to 5.

3 Paragraphs are given with 4 questions each. Try to mug up the questions from gre 12th edition model test papers 1 to 5, 13 th edition is also ok if 12 this not there.

Be careful that there is an upper cut off for us. Try to get average marks, and be thorough with critical reasoning there is an individual cutoff for this section.

Technical interview:
I am a chemical engineering student. My technical interview is for 45 minutes. First 5 min is just about my self. And 20 min she asked about my chemical subjects like distillation, catalysis, heat transfer, thermodynamics. And so on... Next 10 min she asked me about C language, the programs like strings, reverse of a number etc.....

What ever u say say it with confidence. Maintain a very good eye contact with the interviewer. No need to fear. TCS people will be very friendly with us. Say what ever stuff u know but with confidence. Be careful while preparing ur resume. They mainly concentrate on your resume. Be clear about what u know in your resume.

MR round is so simple. There were questions like after working 2 years in TCS if u get a good job u leave our company? The compulsory question asked for non computers students is why do u leave ur branch and want software???

HR round is mainly for testing our communication skills, speaking ability, and confidence. There were very small GD's conducted by the hr itself. Try to communicate even if u know about the topic or not. And some of the questions like:
why TCS?
What do u know about TCS??
Location prefernce??
Salary??
Why should I take u in TCS??

The one main thing to win in TCS is confidence. At last from 225 who cleared th written, 180 cleared th technical and finally 162 were selcted to TCS and I am one among them.

Uma
