Statement: Should there be a complete ban on use of all types of chemical pesticides in India?
Arguments:
- No. The pests will destroy all the crops and the farmers will have nothing to harvest.
- Yes. The chemical pesticides used in agriculture pollute the water underground and this has become a serious health hazard.
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Clearly, pesticides are meant to prevent the crops from harmful pests. But at the same time, they get washed away with water and contaminate the groundwater. Thus, both the arguments hold strong.

The answer should be C as one is a favorable statement and the other is adverse.

See in the statement they mentioned as only all chemical pesticide.
Not they mention natural pesticides. By this 1 one is false and 2 only true ie implicit.

How sure are you that if we don't use pesticides all crops will be destroyed?
There are other control measures like crop rotation which can terminate the lifecycle of pests and can serve as an effective control measures if used well.
Therefore, an option I don't hold sense. And unless pesticides are indiscriminately applied, leaching and pollution of groundwater would happen and be implying II isn't strong enough too.
