How could you say that stars appears move from east from west means what's the logic behind this means how stars and earth connected to each other.
Vivek said: (Oct 12, 2010)
Earth revolve around the sun in anticlockwise direction and rotate about an its axis so the motion of earth is west to east with respect to star so according to the theorem of relativity we assume that star is moving east to west whenever the star is static with respect to earth and no one atmoshphere is moving.
Gajendra Singh said: (Jun 10, 2011)
Actually when earth rotates east to west we also rotate east to west and we saw stars moving from east to west.
Tulasi said: (Jun 11, 2011)
I agree with vivek but vivek please explain briefly about your saying matter.
Rajesh Malwa said: (Jul 18, 2011)
How we can understand that star moving east to west? And when we can see it.
Vel said: (Sep 6, 2011)
Hi vivek I did not understand your ans fully please explain brief.
Shiva said: (Oct 24, 2011)
I think the best logic to choose an option is take earth as reference. they have told stars appears to move from east to west so any object which revolves around its own axis will make other objects around it to moce in its opposite direction.

Actually Star is situated in space in fixed position and when earth is rotated from west to east about it own axis of rotation we observed that star is moving from east to west.
Mohib said: (Feb 11, 2012)
We see stars because of the rotation of earth. The earth rotates from west to east. Consider a point just infront of your eyes in space, you keep seeing that point a turn your head from west to east the point will move from east to west. Same case with earth more accurate than this.

Sun is also a star and in general fact we say that sun rise from east and set from west but actually sun does not move it is stable. Due to revolution and rotation of earth from west to east it seems us moving like other star.
Karthika said: (Apr 26, 2012)
The stars move in the opposite direction of earth. So the stars are moved west to east.
Tushar said: (Apr 30, 2014)
I am completely agree with @Priyanka's suggestion.
Chayan Shri Shrimal said: (Jun 3, 2014)
|Sun is appears to move from east to west but it doesn't move because it is also a star.
So stars are appear to move from east to west.

Retrograde motion is the apparent motion of a planet to move in a direction opposite to that of other bodies within its system, as observed from a particular vantage point. The stars rise in the east and set in the west as a result of the earth's rotation on its axis.

|Take an example of a person(A) in rest if there is another person(B) in a train, B will observe that A is moving in backward direction, however it is the train which is moving in forward direction, same will be the case of this question.
This is the principle of Frame of Reference.

Earth rotate from east to west and star rotate opposite to earth.
Akram said: (Jul 10, 2015)
Earth rotates from west to east and with respect to the earth we assume the stars move opposite of the earth (east to west).
Aravind said: (Sep 10, 2015)
If we are in train when it is moving with some speed. Then the nature moving opposite to you. Similarly earth rotates west to east then we assumes opposite to it.
Nikki said: (Sep 23, 2015)
|Its actually very simple to understand.
West ============> East.
West <=========== East.
Its the same phenomenon which we have often experienced while traveling on any vehicle.
We feel like the trees are running in backward direction.
Pankaj said: (Aug 14, 2016)
Thanks @Nikki for your best logic.
Phil said: (Dec 27, 2016)
That's a different thing altogether-parallax @Nikki.
Three said: (Feb 27, 2017)
|It's very simple thing.
I agree @Nikki.
Stars don't move in space. They are stationary.
While the earth rotates from west to east, it appears like stars moving from east to west (Nikki's example).
It is the same concept, the sun rising at the east and falling at west.
Omkar said: (Apr 20, 2017)
Sun goes from east to west. That means earth rotates from west to east.
Sai said: (Apr 25, 2017)
|It's very simple to understand if we are in the train we see trees and mountains can see like they are moving.
Which Means trains is moving but trees are stable.
So, this what I am saying is earth is moving but the star is stable li trees.
Salman said: (Aug 21, 2017)
|Are Starsmoving from east to west?
Are Stars revolving in earth east to west?
Is any difference? Explain this.
Sowjanya said: (Mar 6, 2020)
|If you take a general situation where train moves in one direction but its surroundings seem to be moving in the opposite direction even though they are not.
The same perception can be seen in the direction of stars w.r.t to earth.
Mayank said: (Jul 15, 2020)
Earth rotates from East to West.
