 Raghava said: (Sep 16, 2010) Its very simple yaar. Difference betweenn 8 & 13 is 5, 13 & 21 is 8, 21 & 32 is 11. Add 3 numbers for all. Numbers you've to add is 5, 8, 11, 14, 17. 20. Got it?

Divya said: (Feb 13, 2011) Sorry I cant get this. Someone help how we got 14 to add.

Abhijeet said: (Feb 19, 2011) The "difference between 47 and 63" is not 17 as stated. "Its 16"

Sanjay said: (May 16, 2011) I cant get this can you give better explanation.

 Sindhu said: (Jun 12, 2011) See friends, Difference between 8 & 13 is 5.ie if v subtract 13-8 v get 5 Difference between 13 & 21 is 8.ie if v subtract 21-13 v get 8(5+3) Difference between 21 &32 is 11.ie if v subtract 32-21 v get 11(8+3) Likewise difference between 32 & 47 is 15.ie if v subtract 47-32 v get 15 But it doesnt satify the condition 11+3=14..hence 47 is wrong no.. Difference between 8 & 13 is 5.ie if v subtract 13-8 v get 5

Nagendramurthy said: (Jun 17, 2011) see friends.. second no - first no. third no - second no .. series go like that .. that is 13-8=5 21-13=8 32-21=11 47-32=15 63-47=16 see in about two line we have to 14 and 17 respectively.. so that the series contiunes as the difference of 3 after subtracting the next no from previous no .. when we replace 47 by 46 .. 46-32=14 63-46=17 83-63=20.. so the 5.. 8.. 11.. 14.. 17... 20.. the difference is 3.. i think u have clear ur doubts friends... thank u ..

 Sudheer said: (Sep 8, 2011) STEP1......8+5=13; 2......13+5+3=21; 3......21+5+3+3=32; 4......32+5+3+3+3=46 here in the series it is 47 5......46+5+3+3+3+3=63; 6......63+5+3+3+3+3+3=83; so 47 is wrong

Sks said: (Jan 3, 2012) Sudheer is right. Thank you, sudheer.

 Sonutalwani said: (Jun 29, 2012) 8+5=13 (5) 13+8=21 (5+3) 21+11=32 (5+6) 32+14=46 (5+9) 46+17=63 (5+12) 63+20=83 (5+15)

Subash said: (Jul 18, 2013) Add 5 to 1st number. Then add (5+3) to the next number. Then add (5+3+3) to the next number. Then add (5+3+3+3) to the next number and so on. So 47 is wrong it must be replaced by 46.

Sushant L said: (Nov 21, 2014) Its starts with 5 add it in 8 you get 13. Add 3 in to 5 you get 8 add it in 13 you get 21. Add 3 In to 8 you get 11 add it in 21 I get 32 and so on.

Arnab Roy said: (Jul 18, 2015) I answered 32 because I thought it was the only even number in the entire series. What's wrong in that?

 Arun said: (Sep 3, 2015) @Arnab. There is 8.

 Anbu said: (Sep 29, 2015) How to identified I there use 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20 like this?

 Sailesh said: (Dec 5, 2015) Find the next number in the series 1, -1, 2, 3, 32, ?

Sibasish said: (Sep 8, 2016) The difference between 63 and 47 is ''16" not 17. Had it been "64" instead of 63 the explanation as well as question be correct.

Manoj said: (Sep 11, 2016) @Sudheer. You made a good job, thanks.

Kishore said: (Sep 19, 2016) Why it can't 32? It's even and rest are odd.

Ajay said: (Sep 24, 2016) You are right @Kishore.

Vikas said: (Sep 28, 2016) @Kishore, see that 8 is also an even number.

Anirudh said: (Oct 15, 2016) I didn't get this. Please, explain how to solve this?

Prakash said: (Nov 7, 2016) In the sequence 32 is the only even number.

Rinik said: (Nov 8, 2016) You are right @Sudheer.

Ram said: (Mar 8, 2017) It can be 63 because only 63 is a multiple of 9. Rest aren't.

Vivek said: (Mar 8, 2017) @Prakash. See that 8 is also an even number.

Shreyas said: (Sep 4, 2017) Well said @Sonutalwani.

 Ashok said: (Sep 6, 2017) 5+8=13 8+13=21 13+21=34 So the odd one is 32.

Pritha said: (May 24, 2018) Thank you for explaining the answer.

 Divya said: (Jun 22, 2018) It's very simple add three number for each last no. 8-13=value is 5. add 3 in 5, 5+3=8, so 13+=21, 8+3=11 ,so 21+11=32, 11+3=14,so 32+14=46, 14+3=17,so 46+27=63, 17+3=20,so 63+20=83, So the wrong no is 47, real value is 46.

 D.Rakesh said: (Mar 2, 2019) 13-8 = 5. 21-13 = 8. 32-21 = 11. x-32 = 14. 63-x = 17. 83-63 = 20. (5,8,11,14,17,20 ) each time increase by 3. So there, x should be equal to 46(i.e., x=46). I hope you understood now.

Shar.P said: (Aug 10, 2019) I am not understanding it. Please explain me to get it.

 Murugan said: (Nov 4, 2019) 5, 2, 13, 29, 17, 8, 21 find add man out.

Manjeeth said: (Apr 3, 2020) Not getting this, Please explain me.

Jethalal said: (Apr 5, 2020) @Manjeeth If you see the difference; 8-13 is 5 13-21 is 8 21-32 is 11 Now if you see the no: 5 8 and 11 => 5+3==>8. 8+3==>11. So the now next no after adding 3 will be 11 +3 ==>14, but if u see the diff between 32 and 47 it is 15 which is wrong. So the ans will be 47.

Sayli said: (Oct 30, 2021) @Nagendramurthy. Your solution is correct. Thanks.
