@All.

They said in the question which direction is he facing so when it comes to facing he is facing south. He is present in the North but facing direction will be South.

Here we have to assume that they're standing in front (north-south) and not next to each other. As the shadow falls westwards (since sun rises eastwards) and the shadow is to the right of Vimal, it signifies that the right of Vimal is the west direction which implies he's facing southwards.

As per the question, Stephen came from the opposite side of Vimal. This means, Vimal and Stephen facing each other so the shadow always falls westward (when sunrises) and the shadow is to the right of Vimal so Vimal is facing south and he is standing northward.

As the shadow of Stephen is the right side of Vimal. The left of Vimal will be east when we go clockwise from the east we will get south. Vimal is facing that direction because he is in the right side.

Because the sun rises in the East, shadow of a man falls towards the West. When we turn right from the west we are facing south. In question, the shadow of Stephen falls right of Vimal. So Vimal facing South.
