In the first figure it is clear that south east is as north. And north east becomes west. So opposite to west is east and north to south.
Hence west is known as south east in the second figure.
It is very simple. Just we need to compare two figures we can get the answer as south east.

There are two possibilities.
With reference to Y, the answer is South -West and with reference to X answer is South-East.
With reference to Y, the answer is South -West and with reference to X answer is South-East.

In The above 1,2 questions directions which you shown is different to third one.That is in 1,2 questions Directions in the place of north south is taken and in the place of east west is taken .It is confused to the beginers.
