If you fold it to a cube, we can get only blank cube without shaded face just as option 1, so then look at the answer options we have only two options A & C showing 1 (i.e A. 1&4 c. 1&2) , so we can check these two options then if we rotate the cube 1 to one step right side we could get only option 4. Thus clears OPTION A. 1&4 only.

As we know that to diagonally shaded figure has to be adjacent in any possible configuration. Which is not in fig (2).
Now Is is possible that other shaded side is adjacent but not visible to us.
But I think we need to answer only those which we can <b>surely</b> say that this will be similar to the original box. But in fig (2) we can not be sure.
