Statement 1 and 2 does not give any clarity on partners as same is not mentioned in both statements.

Because from the statement 2 alone we can get the answer, so what is the need of 1st statement when we can get it from the only 2nd.

The answer is E, because in card game if there are 4 players those 4 is divided into two teams. Team 1 has two players, in the same way, team 2 having two players. The players in each team will sit opposite to each other. In statement 1 says D is opposite to A which means obviously B is opposite to C, 2nd statement speaks the same.
