Opposite is partner or neighbour is partner?

Please explain the answer.

It hasn't been defined that those sitting opposite are partners.

So, should have been E.

Answer should be D with the help of above statements one cannot make clear that who is partner of whom?

Amol said:   8 years ago
Statement 1 and 2 does not give any clarity on partners as same is not mentioned in both statements.

Answer should be D.

The answer should be B.

Because from the statement 2 alone we can get the answer, so what is the need of 1st statement when we can get it from the only 2nd.

'D' is the answer.

Partners sit diagonal each other, with the playing surface in the middle, so that opponents have a chance to see the signals.

The answer is E, because in card game if there are 4 players those 4 is divided into two teams. Team 1 has two players, in the same way, team 2 having two players. The players in each team will sit opposite to each other. In statement 1 says D is opposite to A which means obviously B is opposite to C, 2nd statement speaks the same.

C is correct because if D is opposite to A, then B will be opposite to C.
