Option C is right because there is no relation of O and we can not take O as a mother maybe it is a father so we can not call M is maternal uncle because there are possibilities of paternal uncle also.

Answer C is exactly correct because relation of o is clear. Maternal uncle means mothers brothers and question want only gender between M and N so option C is correct.

How can we say that sex of O is not known?
It is clearly mentioned in statement that A x B means A is the son of B. So in option [A] O x N mean O is son of B. It means O must be a Male person.

In given question, the alphabets are not available like M, N, O so the answer is D.

As option D is correct. Because any of the above does not give the answer.
But the explanation given is also wrong that the gender of O is not known it's clearly that AxB A is the son of B(i.e male A).
In 1st M+OxN OxN O is son of N(i.e is male O).
In 1st we do not get the gender of N and in 3rd option, we did'nt get the gender of O.
