Why I use whom? Can you please explain me?

Ramesh Pujari said:   9 years ago
Since the man is receiver so he becomes object and object of the Relative pronoun is whom such as.

I killed the man.

I----- doer ---- Relative Pronoun should be (Who).
The man-----receiver----R P ( whom).

So, the answer is D.

If we see the construction of the sentence there is a word (WAS) which means the sentence is Past, & you cannot Answer A&B because it is present, while (C) could not be used for the very simple reason 1. There is a word WAS and if you answered (C) you made redundancy on the Sentence. 2. WHO is used after a noun or pronoun.

I think "cheater" would be more satisfying than "cheat".

Because the sentence in the past tense that's why it is to whom I sold.

In the sentence "was cheat" is in past, so the option which contains past form of the verb is correct and of course we might think an option "C", but past form never follows "to". Hence option "D" is correct.

Whom is always used after preposition.

"Whom" in this sentence is a relative pronoun that refers to the object who is the man.

If the man was the subject, we would use "who".
