Dear is something really worth to a person. It does not show the cost of that particular thing.
So the opposite is inappropriate to be cheap. It must be worthless.

Dear = beloved, cherished, prized, valued, precious, loved.
Hence in this context hated should be the answer!
It cannot be cheap.
Please rectify this.

Why not worthless?
Dear means Precious or priceless.
So worthless can be the correct answer as well.
Have checked in the thesaurus as well.

The answers seems a bit ambiguous. Even worthless fits quite correctly here. Anything that is not dear (noun- here meaning close) is worthless.

Dear means love, favorite. i.e. A dear little child. Dear madam. Here Dear is used as Adjective.
Dear means expensive. i.e To buy cheap and sell dear is his practice. Here dear is used as Adverb.
So Antonym of dear is cheap that is logical.

Even worthless is a right answer as 'dear' is also used to refer something valuable (like 'this dress is very dear to me') here antonym becomes 'worthless'.
