Hi! I am an undergrad CS student. Yash Technology's drive was held in our college i.e. Swami Vivekanand College of Engineering, Indore on September 22, 2015. It was a pool campus drive in which 250 students took part.
The company takes time to conduct the whole drive and in our college, it was finished in 4 days.
The selection process comprises of 4 rounds:
1. Pre-Placement Talk (which in our college was held a week ago the drive).
2. Written Test.
3. Extempore Round.
4. Technical Interview.
5. HR interview.
ROUND 1:
Written test comprises of 120 questions (60 aptitude+60 technical which was complete Java) in 12 minutes. Aptitude questions were easy, questions were asked from work and time, patterns etc. The technical part was thorough core Java which anybody who knows the basic can easily crack. Results were announced in the evening the same day via mail. 92 were selected out of 250. Written is selection round as well as it is all luck.
ROUND 2:
Extempore is no elimination round they just check if you can speak and understand English or not. They form a group of 5 each and send to a panel of 2-3 HRs where the ask TMAY and then the extempore starts. This round usually takes 15-20 minutes, mine lasted for 1-1.15 hours because he had huge light talks with the HR! HR are all good they guide you for the next round. Almost everyone made it through this.
ROUND 3:
This is the difficult as well as crucial round. "IT IS MANDATORY TO MAKE A NOTE THAT, WRITE ONLY THAT IN YOUR CV WHICH YOU ACTUALLY KNOW AND CONFIDENT ABOUT" They may ask you even HR-type questions in TR.
There were total of 8 panels on the the day, and it completely depends on the panel how hard or easier the interview is going to be. Each panel consists of at least 2 interviewers. My turn came.
Me: Good afternoon sir!
Interviewer: Yes please sit.
Me: Nervous, yet no emotions shown.
Interviewer: So, what do you know about C?
Me: Told.
Interviewer: Make me a program of the reverse of a string without using an inbuilt function.
Me: Done (they just check how strong your logic are).
Interviewer: Can you show me just the logic of swapping two nos using only 2 variables?
Me: Done (they may laugh to discomfort you but don't lose your confidence).
Interviewer: Another logic I want to see, is print a star pyramid.
Me: Interpreted the other way round, was able to create the whole pyramid, but the last star was not printed using my logic. (tensed, while I was thinking of the logic one of them asked "Do you like Kapil Sharma?" because I wrote Jocularity in my CV as strength! mind it they ask anything from my CV).
Interviewer: (laughed) Do you know the table of 2?
Me: Got it Sir.
Interviewer: Tell me what do you know in JAVA?
Me: Told.
Interviewer: Brief description and role in the minor project.
Me: Told.
Interviewer: 2-3 Database Questions.
Me: Told.
Interviewer: Okay you may leave.
Results were announced as soon as I left the interview room. I was short-listed for HR round.
HR Round: Easy, good people to interact with, as you get the chance show your skills, your hobbies, I showed photographs which I took.
Finally results were announced 16 from our college were selected I was one of them. My personal opinion would be try harder every day, before this I was not selected in 4 good companies and finally this, It takes time! :).
All the best! :).
