I am R. Suganthi. I am doing my final year B-Tech (IT) in M. Kumarasamy College of Engineering. On October 12th 2014 we had our Wipro on campus placement drive and I got placed in Wipro. And I would like to share my interview experience. We had five rounds as follows:
1. Group Discussion.
2. Aptitude Test (Verbal, Logical, Quants and Technical).
3. Essay Writing (No elimination).
4. Technical round.
5. HR round.
First we had a pre-placement talk in which we came to know a lot about the company and it was very interactive session After that we had group discussion, each group had 15 members and my team got a chance choose the topic by ourselves and we chose the topic Technical skills Vs Soft skills and I supported that soft skill is important and next the shortlisted students attended the aptitude test.
In aptitude test, we had four sections Verbal(25qns), Logical(16qns), Quants(14qns) and Technical(14 qns) and we had section wise cut off and only those who scored well in all sections were shortlisted and mass elimination was done in this round.
Next we had essay writing round. It\'s a hand written test in which we need to write an essay on given topic within 10 minutes. This round had no elimination but it was to check the English skill and vocabulary skill. We were asked to fill the Wipro profile form and our resume, photo copy of our mark statements, resume and the essay writing sheet were attached along with the profile and we need to take these documents to the next round.
Next round was technical round. I attended it for around 20 minutes and first I was asked to introduce myself and then I was asked few questions from my area of interest and then from my core subjects (IT) and I managed to answer all the questions then I was asked to write a program and then I was asked to debug a program and I did it too a and she just noted whether I was confidently doing it. Then, she asked me a few questions about which location I prefer to work and checked whether I am flexible. Then she asked me whether I have any question to ask her and I asked the feedback about how I performed and I got a good feedback too. So I was quiet happy. Its more than enough if we know the basics in our core subjects but we must be strong in the area of interest. Programming skill is essential for all and especially for IT and CSE students.
Finally, I attended HR round. It went on very well. He asked me how was the day and then about my aim, dream and then about my family and few more questions about me. Then he asked whether I have any questions? I asked in what way I should enhance myself to get into our company? And I asked for the feedback and he told that I would get to know it after hearing the results At night by 9.00PM the results were out and I was selected. :). Now I am part of Wipro family And the day was really great and unforgettable.
