WIPRO INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE:

Date: 19/09/2014 and 20/09/2014
Venue: Future Institute of Engineering and Management, Kolkata.

Well, the first day was about to start with a Presentation by Wipro. We were to report to college by 8.30 AM. The presentation started at 11.00 AM as the Wipro team was late in coming to our campus. They gave an hour long PPT regarding all basic info of their company, prospects of employees, designation, exposure and various work sections. Try to listen to the PPT well because I was asked about the different work sections of the company during my interview.

The first elimination round for Wipro was the Group Discussion round. We were allowed to make teams of 15 on our own and submitted the names in a Wipro form. Soon we were taken for the GD. We were asked to sit an arc. The person-in-charge was calling out the names in random to speak. Our topic was Compare Rural Life and Urban Life.

We were given 45 seconds to write down the points and soon the GD started. I was allowed to speak for only a minute when the person interrupted me and said the next name. Just look at two things your voice should have confidence in it and try not repeating some points that others have already mentioned. On an average 10 students qualified from each group.

Thereafter was the Aptitude Round. Apart from Verbal, Quant and Logical there was an additional Technical Round. Here questions comprised of Programming errors, output, searching sorting algorithms, time complexity, etc.

The result for the Aptitude round was announced at 7 PM in the evening and the selected 122 students were asked to report the next day at 8.30 AM.

The next day after I reached college at 8.45 AM, I was given a Wipro form to fill up. The form was a 4-page form and it really took almost 45 min to fill up that form.

Next we were asked to write an Essay within 10 minutes. My topic was "Independence and Democracy-Relevance to India. Mind it this round is not that important but at times the essay is checked if one qualifies for the HR round.

Next was the Technical Round. My Technical Round was for 50 minutes. After I entered the room I was asked to introduce myself. He asked me about my schooling. He asked me about the contents of few subjects we had in 2nd and 3rd semester. I recalled them as far as possible. He asked me about my favorite subject and my training.

Since I did training on JAVA, the entire interview of mine was on JAVA itself. I was asked to define classes and objects. The he asked if JAVA supports multiple inheritance. I said No. He asked me then how is it possible to implement such a situation in JAVA. I said with the help of interfaces. Then he asked me about interfaces, abstract methods. He asked me few questions on Applets. Then he asked about the project I did using Java. I explained. He asked me about the database part. Since I didn\'t have an idea about database well, so I was a little afraid. He asked me to write a query to view a table which I knew fortunately. Then he gave me a situation and asked how I would react in those situations.

He asked my about my parents. He asked why I have selected Kolkata, Bangalore as my preferred work locations. I gave some reasons. He said will I have any problem if sent to Delhi. I said No. Then he asked if I have any question for him. I asked him a question. Answering the question, he said I may leave now.

Now, Wipro selects some persons directly from Technical Round and do not send them for an HR round. And luckily I was one of them. I was directly selected from the Technical round.

Thank You.
