Wipro visited sir MVIT on 17-9-14. Recruitment process went on for 2 days.
We assembled in our auditorium at 9.00 am, the process began with a pre placement talk.
There was 5 different rounds in the selection process.
1. Group Discussion (speak for 2mins).
- Topics like-our ancestors were happier, ladies power, problems in India etc.
2. Online aptitude test (1 hour) (no negative marking).
- Analytical - 16 question (16 min).
- Verbal - 16 question I guess (don\'t remember the exact time).
- Logical - 16 question.
- Technical - 16 question (18 min).
3. Essay writing.
- Topic - old vs new- the difference in ideology.
4. Technical round.
5. HR round.
Total participation - 232.
GD cleared - 177.
Aptitude cleared - 54.
After technical and HR 38 were selected.
In GD, each group consists of 20 people, our panel was kind of organised so everyone got a chance to speak, 9 out of 20 got selected. But in other panels there was a fish market situation. So people, just try to grab your chance and speak 3-4 valid point, don\'t drag your points, keep it small, simple and effective.
Online test was conducted by amcat, it was not very simple, you need to practice a lot.
Analytical section was easy but since there is 1 min to solve 1 question manage your time effectively.
Eg: (1010) 2 in decimal is 10*2=20.
Refer "INDIABIX", it has helped me a lot.
Essay writing is not a elimination round. Just write 2 paragraphs, it is more than enough. Your essay will be evaluated in technical or HR round.
Technical round - Since I\'m a computer science student questions were asked from DBMS, C, C++, Operating system Data structures. Many questions were asked from DBMS, like diff between user key and foreign key, commit and rollback, normalisation and its forms etc. The interviewer asked me to draw the UML diagram of my project, and write few basic queries on it.
She asked me to write a program to print stars in the following fashion.
Other panels gave programs like binary search, quick sort, bubble sort, merge sort,
Selection sort and to calculate their time efficiency also.
Students from non CS branch were also asked about C and C++.
HR round - very basic question like tell about yourself, strength, weakness, what steps have you taken to overcome your weakness, about the bond (for Wipro it is 15 months) ,
What motivates you to work?, and he asked me to speak about the current major problem in INDIA, I spoke about corruption.
You may have attended many interviews and failed in online test, don\'t worry, don\'t ever think clearing aptitude is impossible, it just needs practice.
Just be confident, always look in the eyes of the interviewer, don\'t interrupt while he is talking, just pretend like you are a keen listener and a good learner. Importantly don\'t forget to ask questions in the end, I asked questions like- what are the skills required to do this job, so that I can prepare myself?, tell about your experience in Wipro?- just to create a impression like you are interested about the company.
Don\'t lose hope, don\'t have negative thoughts, give your best, and succeed.
All the very best, meet you in Wipro.
