Placement Papers - Wipro

Hi Friends. I attended WIPRO\'s placement drive at our college Graphic Era University.

The selection procedure had 4 rounds.

1. Online Test.
2. Essay round (non-elimination round).
3. Technical-cum-HR interview.
4. HR Interview.

A week before the actual placement drive, we gave AMCAT test that was conducted in our college. So we had the idea of online test procedure.

During The placement drive, Online test was conducted by Aspiring Minds (AMCAT).

As I am a student of Mechanical Engineering, So for us there is no section of technical questions. Our paper had 3 parts:

A) Quant (25 question in 35 minutes).
B) Logical Reasoning (25 question in 25 minutes).
C) English (Verbal) (18 question in 18 minutes).

There is no NEGATIVE marking. But once you did any question, you can\'t go back to previous question. There is 1 minute, to rest between each sections.

Quantitative Aptitude: It contains questions on topics like HCF, LCM, Speed, Compound Interest, S.I. , Percentage etc. Questions were very easy. If you are good in maths (Basics). You will solve it in just 20 minutes.

Logical Reasoning: This was my favorite section as I am very good in logical reasoning. It contains logical reasoning questions which can be found in books like R. S. Aggrawal. Be alert While solving this section. As one small error will lead to wrong answer.

English: this section had questions like antonyms, synonyms, correct spelling of the word, direct to indirect speech, indirect to direct speech, and one jumbled letter, Reading Comprehension. Etc. This section is the most difficult section in the whole paper as Some of my friends got eliminated due to their wrong answers in this section although they had good command over quant and logical reasoning.

I got selected in written. After this we were given a booklet by team of WIPRO in which we have to enter our details (it is like filling all the details from our CV). Also a sheet is provided with it. Which was having ESSAY topic. I got "HOW WILL YOU BE AN ASSET TO WIPRO". Other topic was like "IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA". Etc. Time limit to write the Essay was 15 minutes.

We were asked to come for our interviews next day.

Next day. I attended Technical Interview (cum HR interview).

Technical Interview: In technical interview, I was little bit Nervous as that was my first job interview, but that interviewer was so good in nature. He made me comfortable. Then he asked me to introduce myself. He checked my academic records. I was having above 80 % in my UG. So he asked why I am not selected for direct interview. So I told him that I lacked in 12th by 2% as per the criteria for direct interview.

Than he asked me "Being a Mechanical Engineer, why wipro?". So I explained. Also I mentioned about Wipro enterprises unit- wipro infrastructure which is the second largest manufacturer of hydraulics cylinder and pistons. So I have a scope for my core field too. Than he asked about my fav. Subject, topic. The interviewer was manufacturing head. He had good knowledge of my field. So he asked from almost every subjects of mechanical engineering.

After all technical questions he asked me some questions like if I am ready to relocate, what if I am not selected, About the bond, any 2 question I want to ask etc. Friends you can prepare these questions from placement section of IndiaBix.

I was not called for the HR interview. Which was making me nervous. But I later came to know that. Only some students were sent to HR Interview about whom the Technical interviewer was not sure whether to select or reject.

After waiting the whole day. The result was announced at 6 pm. I got selected. Which made me very happy as I got a "job" at an early stage of my 7th semester.

Friends, I would like to give you all only 3 tips.

1. Have complete knowledge of your subjects.
2. Be confident (The most important). And at last.
3. "BE YOURSELF".
