I had just attended the written and interview round of WIPRO VLSI ...Here are the questions and paper pattern ..

(Being an electronics student ....i had just attempted the 4 C questions which was quite easy and one boolean expression question) .


After that ratio of elimination was approx 50 % from total 88 students were selected out of which 41 were opted the VLSI panel ( i have opted it too)

#Then those who have opted the VLSI panel have undergone a next technical test consisting of 10 questions related to electronics theory with maximum time 20 .. I remember few questions so just writing down along with the option

1) How many 2:1 mux can be used to implement 3:8 decoder ?

2) One question on rs-232

3) one question on DMAC

4)True about class B Amplifier ??

a) 50 % input signal are used ( angle = 180 degree )

Then there was an essay round (of about 10 min) which was just a non elimination round ...

After that ...

Interview round :

1 technical and 1 HR

Technical Round : (this round takes around 20-25 minute in case they want to select u )

First we had a little intro process ( tell me about yourself and all )

After that he started asking questions ..It was bit tough for me , because i haven\'t revised much ..He asked me 10-12 questions

a) How many LUT\'s are there in CLB ? (he asked this because i did project on FPGA)

b) Design a comparator which gives 1 when both the bits r same and zero when not same..

(He was trying to fool me by adding the word comparator ...it is simple because can be implement by using simple XNOR gate ..which was the correct answer)

c) Neuman architecture ...( Read it from wiki)

d) Pin configuration of 8086 ...

f) Questions from project ...Since i had done my project in verilog language , he asked me to write any code which was used in the project..

i wrote the code which generated a clock pulse after every one second ( clock divider code actually )

g) Then he asked do u know C and C++ ??

I said : Ya

Write the code to find the largest number between three given number .
What is malloc ?
Write the code to swap the two number using pointer and not using pointer ?

h) There are 16 address line and 18 data line

and 12 address line and 16 data line ..what will be the memory size in both cases.

i) What is D flip flop its circuit and a bit detail how it works ??

Then he says : "I am selecting u for the further HR round ..Do u have any questions ?"

I asked : Sir a lil bit brief introduction about your self ( :P )

He told about...the place and about how long he is working with Wipro.

I asked : About the internship opportunity ?

He says : Till now there is no opportunity .


HR round :-

HR was cool ...She started talking in hindi ...and when i entered in d room she was having coffee with biscuits..and asked me .."please have some ??"

I said : No mam thanks ! I just had my lunch :)

Then the process of strength and weakness begins

HR(In hindi) : Apne bare me batao ?? (Tell me about yourself)

I took approx 3 minutes to describe everything from academic -> family->strength->weakness->goal..

HR : Any problem with reallocation ??

I : No mam :)

HR : Any back or something during academics ?

I : No mam :D :D

HR : Okay ...That\'s all from my side . Have a nice day

I : I have some questions if u just allow me to ask ??

HR : SHoot :)

I : Just wanted to know about the service agreement (bond )

HR : Bond worth Rs. 75 k of one year with 3 months training .. anything else ??

In Written : If u are good in Aptitude ..U will clear it

In Interview : Be frequent and clear about the project that u have done ..

In HR : Its formality
