Placement Papers - Voltas

Hi Friends,

Qualification: Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
College: M.H. Sabbo Siddik Polytechnic.

The requirement was for ME & EE. Over 61 students appeared for the test.

Aptitude: 75 marks.
Electrical: 30 marks.
(The questions were mainly on motors, power systems, transformers, basic electrical and electronics.)
English: 15 marks.
(The questions were like complete sentences, basic grammar, spellings, etc.)
Quantitative: 15 marks.
(Time and distance, profit loss, time and work, etc.)
Logical reasoning: 15 marks.
(Number Series, blood relations, Direction sense, etc.)

From 61, 14 students were shortlisted for GD.

Topic: Are Indian companies good for jobs or MNCs?
5 minutes to think and then 20 minutes of discussion.

Of 14, 5 were shortlisted for PI.
PI comprised of 5 members, 2 technical and 3 HR.

Questions:
Different types of starters?
Fleming's right-hand rule?
Why should we know the direction of induced emf?
Ohms law?
Some questions on transformers?
Are you willing to work if we give you a location out of Mumbai?
Why did you choose a diploma after 12th science and why not a degree?

Of 5, 2 were selected and I am one of them.
