Aptitude Experience:
It was a bright Monday when I got up early in the morning to write one more written exam (Aptitude) , Earlier I failed to clear the written exams of six companies, so with a very little hope I went to the college campus to write the aptitude exam, The Eligibility Criteria Was 65 Throughout Your 10th, 12th and Engg, The aptitude test was a bit difficult as it consisted of 80 questions to be answered in a short span of 80 minutes,
The Aptitude paper was divided into 4 sections, First was Verbal, second was Logical Reasoning, Third was Quantitative Aptitude and the last section was Programming Skills, Each section with 20 questions, There was no negative marking, I was able to solve 56 questions out of 60 from the three sections in 70 minutes as Quant usually takes a lot of time, so I skipped few questions of Quant that I was unable to answer and I started solving Programming Skills.
I was surprised to see the quality of questions asked in the fourth section, it was the toughest of all sections, Usually we don't see difficult questions in Programming Skills because students from ECE, EEE face difficulties while answering those questions because they are not used to study programming, So I was able to solve 5-6 questions from programming skills, rest of the questions I blindly answered as there was no negative marking, so overall I solved 60-62 questions out of 80 in 80 minutes.
It was a bit depressed as I thought I should have answered at least 70 questions out of 80, but when I came out of the examination room everyone faced the same problem, few said time was very less, few said section 4 was difficult, so overall everyone had the same story, that boosted my morale and I started day dreaming that I can also clear my aptitude exam, result was to be declared on the next day, so I eagerly waited for the much awaited result.
Interview Process:
The next morning we assembled in the seminar hall for the Pre-placement talk, There were 6 techinical and 2 HRs, After the Pre-Placement talk, The Final Thing was the announcement of the results of the shortlisted candidates for Technical interviews, 58 students cleared the written out of 161 and I was one among them.
I was on cloud nine when my name was called, I was in the second group for the technical interviews, I was not nervous because I had an instinct that I'll never fail in Technical because I'm good at Programming and other Technical stuffs, Also I had done few Projects in my regular semesters that I included in the resume.
My Technical interview was a long lasting and it lasted for 50+ minutes, The Techie mainly asked questions from my projects, As I told you I'm good at Programming and other Technical Stuffs so I answered all the questions with perfection, His main focus was on the DBMS Project, He asked a lot of questions from my DBMS and JAVA Project.
Finally the interview was over and one of the Placement Coordinating members told me that I'm Shortlisted for the HR interviews, It was not a surprise for me as knew that my interview went well enough to reach the next round.
The next round was the HR round, 33 students were shortlisted for HR round, I entered in the HR room, and saw the two HRs sitting in front of me, One was a female and the other was a male.
The HR interview was a bit interesting as they were asking questions related to both technical and HR, They first asked me about my elective subjects and then they asked few technical questions related to software engineering and finally few simple questions related to personal life-like.
1) What's your dad's occupation?
2) Why did you decide to pursue a degree in South India?
3) What was there in today's newspaper? (As I mentioned in the resume I read newspapers).
4) What's the best things about Bangalore? (I answered it's weather).
5) What if we relocate you?
6) Do you have a passport?
7) What are the plans for higher education?
Finally, they asked if I had any questions for them and I asked what kind of job I'd be doing if I joined their firm. It was an interview of around 35-40 minutes and I was exhausted after the HR interview, I went to the college canteen to have some food, The results were announced in the evening between 7:30 to 8:00 pm, They selected 15 students out of 33 after the final round and I was one among them.
It was an Achievement for our college because the top 5 colleges like MS Ramaiah College of Engineering (10 got selected) and Sir MVIT (6 got Selected) were unable to give such a nice count in the TESCO recruitment process After the Final Selection TESCO members distributed T-Shirts to all the 15 selected candidates and we had a group photograph with them.
Finally I Called my Dad and Mom When they got to know the I got placed in such a big firm they were in tears and they were also ecstatic.
This is my Success Story, I Hope IT Will Help Others Who Will Sit For The Placements, and I Wish the Best Of Luck To All The Upcoming Final Year Students.
