Hi friends, I want to share my experience with the Aptitude Test held at Teradata Powai, Mumbai on Feb 25, 2012. Teradata is majorly a data warehousing company. Actually, it was a site aptitude test.
Around 120 students got an email from Teradata that they were short-listed for the onsite aptitude test. Students were brought into an office kinda place. Students first registered themselves by producing a Printout of Email and Resume. We were given Visitor IDs and then we were given a place to sit. Around 12.15 pm aptitude paper started.
It was surprisingly Not Technical aptitude but was purely a quantitative-based test. (I think they would arrange technical later or unknown).
Questions were very easy. There were 3 Sections.
A. General Maths Section.
B. Verbal/English Language Section.
C. Logic and Data Interpretation Section (Surprising!).
Each with 20 Questions.
It was mentioned:
1. 60 questions in 70 Minutes + 5 Minutes they were given extra.
2. 1 mark for each CORRECT question and -1/4 for Wrong answer.
3. Only Pencil, no pen.
4. Most importantly it had Sectional Cutoffs.
Some of the questions:
1. No.of ways 6 Different Rings can be worn on 4 fingers,
I think this question was erroneous since it was based on Permutation and not combination and all answers were given less than 20. I ticked 20.
2. 4-5 Questions based on Set Theory. Some students like Coffee, some Milk, and some not. Some watch TV, some read newspapers, some both. And we have to find the data asked.
3. 3-4 Questions based on Missing/next Number in a Series.
4. 3-4 Questions based on Blood Relations.
5. 4 Questions on Bar Graph, Line Graph.
6. Simple synonyms/similar words. 3 Questions on Find Odd Word Out, 4 Questions on Antonyms.
7. Some questions are based on Combinations and permutations.
1 Problem on Pipe & cistern, Allegation Mixture. Time distance.
If a vehicle goes from point B to C in 5 hours of distance 450 Miles. And returns in 4 hours, Find the average speed in the entire journey. (Used formula: 2xy / x+y).
8. There are 6 Bulbs each consuming some power in watts (Sorry, don't remember the exact watts) for 5.5 hours a day. And 3 fans consume some power for 10 Hours a day and it was given the cost Rs 2 Per Watt. We were supposed to find the MONTHLY ELECTRICITY BILL.
Tip: Try to attempt questions in all sections so that you cover the cutoff. Time is a factor. We were told that they would send mail for further notification. Hope I clear the test.
Thanks for reading.
