Hi this Ramya, sharing my Tech Mahindra campus (GNITS) placement experience.
On set 24 the screening test was conducted.
I don\'t remember the duration exactly but it was about 1 and a half hour. There were 11 modules in total. 8 modules on English, and the rest on logical and quants.
Each module in English had questions pertaining to different topics such as
>Subject verb agreement.
>Articles.
>Sentence correction.
>Sentence completion.
>Pronouns.
>Prepositions etc.
Logical section consisted questions on:
>Directions.
>Figures and symbols.
>Coding and decoding letters.
>Alphabet and number sequences.
Quant contained questions mostly on,
>Ratios and proportions.
>Time and distance.
>Time and work.
>Partnership etc.
Around 140 students were selected out of 500 students who gave the test.
All the shortlisted students had to write an essay on a given topic in just about 200 words.
Different topics were given to different groups of candidates.
The topics were like-
- The biggest challenge you ever faced.
- Reservation for women.
- Social networking sites etc.
This essay was attached to other set of papers that consisted of our pre-employment application, xerox of all our necessary certificates, Resume, evaluation sheet etc.
The next day we had to face two interviews one TR and one HR.
I was called in for the first round i.e technical interview.
I was asked the following questions:
* Tell me about yourself.
* Explain your mini project.
* How do you come to college? (by College bus/RTC/Own vehicle)
* What is your favorite subject in B.Tech?
* What do you know about embedded systems? Give an example of an embedded system.
* What is an array? How do you access the elements of an array?
I gave the appropriate answers and I was called for the HR after some time.
The person who was taking my HR interview was a very cheerful person. He was patiently and enthusiastically listening to whatever I was speaking.
I was asked the following questions-
>Tell me about yourself.
>Tell me about your family background.
>Why Tech Mahinrda?
>Why IT industry being an ECE student?
>Why should I hire you? (Have to spoke about my strengths)
>How do you rate yourself on a scale of 5 on the following aspects
- Fluency in speaking English.
- How far my English grammar is good?
- How well am I able to put forward my thoughts in words.
I rated myself 3.5, 3, 4 respectively.
To this he was very impressed and told "you rated yourself very closely as I expected"
>What do you think I should look for in the candidates when you all are similar in terms of academics and communication skills?
I replied " I think you should check how consist has the student been in his/her academic."
>What is the difference between creativity and innovation?
>Is there anything you want me to ask?
I asked two questions and left.
The results were announced after a day.
I was one among the 83 students who got selected.
Hope my experience is of some use to you. All the best :)
