Tech Mahindra Interview Experience - Kolkata, October 17, 2014.
There were basically four rounds.
The first was the Aptitude Test round. There were 170 questions and time was only 80 minutes but I assure you, it's manageable as the questions were quite easy. There were all total 11 sections which covered Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and General English.
The quantitative questions were difficult in my opinion for them to be solved within the given time. Mostly it consisted of Permutation/Combination, Probability, Time/Work, Speed/Time/Distance, Partnership, Simple/Compound Interest related questions.
The reasoning section was relatively easy. It comprised of questions mostly related to number series, Coding/Decoding, Syllogism, Direction Tests, Blood Relations.
English was very easy. I repeat very easy.
The second round was a mere formality. All we had to do is to write an essay of word limit 150 from a given choice of 5 topics. No eliminations.
The third and penultimate round was the Technical Interview (TI). You need to survive this round with confidence and smartness. The interviewer asked me to introduce myself and also say something about my favourite subject. Then onwards he asked me questions on C, C++, Java, DBMS and what not! I answered most of them correctly.
He also asked me questions on my mother subject electronics from solid state, microprocessors, etc, etc. I couldn't answer a few in this area.
He even asked me questions from current affairs and gave me a puzzle to solve!
Many got eliminated in this round. TI was tough. Yes, it was.
12am(Yup at midnight):
The fourth and final round was the HR interview. He asked us some questions. It was more like a GD and we were asked to discuss on a topic for quite some time. It went on for an hour. It was a good round. It tested communications skills and team work and also responsive answers to an extent.
4am(In the morning):
Many got eliminated in the HR Round. About 90 of us got placed. The HR himself announced the result. A day to remember!
Tech Mahindra is a very big and reputed company. So don't let any opportunity go past yourself. Make the most of it. Best of luck.
