Tech Mahindra Interview Experience - Pune, 10th Oct 2014
There were 4 rounds in all.
1st was aptitude which consisted of 170 questions which we had to solve in 80 mins.
It had 11 sections. Which is a mixture of Verbal and nonverbal then aptitude. The english part is very easy. It constitutes of questions based on preposition, articles, tenses, change the voice and sentence correction. For accurately solving this part. Go through Wren n Martin and also take some online tests. (it's really THE MOST easy part. ). Try finishing it in 20 mins.
For the non verbal i.e. logical reasoning and analogy, series, blood relation problems R. S. Aggrawal is all enough.
And for maths aptitude also R. S. Aggrawal is ok.
Hushhh. The first round results were declared in a time span of about 20mins after the test was done. 243 students appeared for the test, of which 36 qualified (most of them faced time management problem. ).
2nd round : Essay writing. Our topic was "SHOULD NUMBER OF IIT'S INCREASE IN INDIA".
The don't actually eliminate anyone in this round. The reasons for eliminations are like bad handwriting or improper grammar.
3rd round : PI/TI. It was an one.
If you are IT/CS students you get questions regarding RDBMS, DBMS, OS, CN and languages. C, C++, Java. Most probably HR asks questions based on whatever you have mentioned in your resume. HE asked me about my Project, and then some basic easy C, OS questions.
They eliminated 9 students from this round.
4th round : HR interview:
Tell me something about yourself. TOLD.
Family background. Strengths, weakness, hobbies (whatever your hobby is. They ask questions regarding same), and all general questions.
For practise of such questions just look into IndiaBix. Com interview questions. It helped me a lot. Prepare your answers right before you enter the room.
That's it. :).
It was easy. And I got selected in TechMahindra.
NOTE: some extra tips to crack aptitude is focus on time management. Try completing english first within 20mins at max.
Essay : use correct grammar and don't repeat your sentences. And most important write in understandable way.
Interview : just be confident. Be thorough with your work in resume. Answer quickly n fluently. Act a bit zoombie if you are not sure about the answer. And if you don't know the answer then just say. SORRY SIR I'M UNABLE TO RECALL IT. Or say that you don't know. Don't try bluffing.
HR : They are friendly. So act patiently but smart and quick.
BEST LUCK GUYS. ROCK THE PLACEMENTS.
