Tech Mahindra conducted a pool campus drive at Gyan Ganga College of Engineering and Technology, Jabalpur. About 750 candidates appeared for the drive 195 were shortlisted after the written and at last about 80 candidates were selected.

There were following rounds:

1. Online Aptitude & Written Test.
2. Essay Writing.
3. Technical Interview.
4. HR Interview.

There was eliminated after each round except essay writing.

First the online exam was conducted, the exam was simple but you should go by right strategy and time management as you can fall short of time. There were total 170 questions and time allotted was 80 minutes. It covered mainly two sections Aptitude and English, and then sub divided as follows.

1. Aptitude. (Total 70 Questions).
   
  a). Quantitative (Total 15 Questions. Includes  simple and compound interest, partnership, profit and loss, time and distance, percentages, clocks, calendars, ages.)

  b). Verbal and Nonverbal Reasoning (Total 55 Questions. Includes letter series, number series, analogies, relation between words, blood relations, odd man out, coding and decoding, series of figures.)

2. English. (Total 100 Questions).

Includes articles, prepositions, sentence correction, subject-verb agreement, synonyms, analogy and remaining topics you can clear easily based on your preparation for above topics.

* MY Suggestion go for english part first and finish it in 20 minutes then go for aptitude as it may take time. Remember there was no negative marking so attempt every question.*

Then we were asked to write a essay and to our surprise the HR told to write in any topic of our choice. Since I love Anthropology and History, I wrote on INDIA: LAND OF CULTURAL DIVERSITY.

* My Suggestion, write about 200 words (as HR told us) write it in good handwriting, do not cut and most important write in paragraphs, roughly 3 paragraphs, Introduction, Main Content and Conclusion. Use write grammar as the HR check the essay.*

Then in Technical round i was asked following questions. Since I was from ECE background no programming question were asked, Just basic questions mainly on your projects.

1). Introduce yourself.
2). What you do in your free times.?
3). Which book you read recently.?
4). What was so special about that book.?
5). Why you want to come in IT, having studied ECE.?
6). What is the difference between CS and IT.?
7). What is OOPs.? (This was the only programming question and very basic too.)
8). What is GSM.?
9). What is the difference between GSM & CDMA. ?
10). Have you attended the campus drive of other companies. ?
11). What was your project and what role you played in the team. ?

It went for around 20 mins. The Interviewer was very friendly.

*Be calm and cool, do not say too much to show off and give appropriate answer, If you do not know the answer, Just say no idea, instead of giving senseless answers.

Then I was called for HR round, mainly the HR tested our communication skills and the essay we wrote, some of the questions were like. Introduce yourself ? Why you choose this topic in essay ? Summarize your essay in brief ? Why Tech Mahindra ?

Finally results were announced at 1:00 AM and I was in. I really want to thank Gyan Ganga group and all the volunteers for such a good management. Main part is online test, If you cleared is 70% job is done then they are not looking for very intelligent people in technical, if you are average and confident you will make it, In HR they mainly check your communication skills.
