Tech Mahindra Interview Experience - Hyderabad, 18th December

Posted By : Vivs Rating : +246, -8
Hi Guys I attended TechMahindra Off campus drive on 18th December at Hyderabad (around 400 candidates).

Location was quite far from the city.

It started with a Pre Placement talk by the HR. He told us about the company, salary and the joining date. He also explained us about the selection process :.

1. Aptitude and Verbal Test (170 question in 80 mins, No negative marking).
2. Essay writing.
3. Technical Interview.
4. HR Interview.

1. Online Test.

This is the most important thing that you have to worry about.

Most of the people are filtered in this round.

It consist of 170 question (100 Verbal 70 Aptitude/Reasoning).

In order to clear this round you to score at least 60% in both the sections.

That means 60 in Verbal and 42 in Aptitude.

Its all about time management in here.

Entire paper is divided in 11 Sections.

Such as Articles, Preposition, Verbal reasoning, Non Verbal reasoning and so on.

I will suggest you to start with Verbal and make sure you complete it in 15-20 mins.

So that you have around 1Hr + in aptitude/reasoning.

Verbal question are very easy, prepare for preposition, articles etc.

Moving to Mathematics.

Prepare for all the main topics such as Numbers, Work and Time, Simple and Compound interest, Ratio and Proportion.

Don't spend too much time on any particular question. If its taking, more than 40-50 Sec just pick any one option and move on.

After Online test they told us to wait there itself.

They announced the results after 15 mins.

Only 33/400 cleared 1st Round (50% battle was won already).

After that they told us to fill an Employment Application and gave us to 2 white sheets.

They told that we have 15 mins to fill the application form and write an essay on a topic.

There were 2 topics.

Does Luck play a key role in ones' life.

Are people born Smart or they develop to be one through experience.

After that they took Technical interview.

It lasted around 20-30 mins.

I am ETC graduate so they just asked basics question such as what is database, dotnet, where can you use them.

Also they asked me why TechMahindra (as I'm ETC graduate).

What do you know about programming and blah blah.

I just answered everything without loosing eye-contact and a smiling face :).

He was very impressed with my communication skills and told me to go through HR round.

After Technical round around 27 people were left.

Then comes the HR round.

He asked.

Where are you from?
Tell me your strength and weaknesses?
Why TechMahindra? (Again O_O).
Do you have any problem with relocation?
Any question?

After few minutes they declared the results.

Around 20 got selected (I was one among them :) ).

I have just a small suggestion for you guys.

Make sure you prepare for the Written because thats the main filtering process.

And when it comes to interview just stay confident and answer smartly ;).
