Syntel Interview experience - Tadepalligudem & 11th November 2018

Hello guys,

First I'll share my job experience and then I'll tell about syntel interview experience.

I was placed in campus itself in a startup, which is said to be a very great opportunity to work there as we'll have huge growth (said by our dean and that startup's HR). After listening to that startup's profile from them I thought I got a great Job and in negligence, did not attend rest of the placements (tcs, infy syntel, ntt data etc. ). And finally after completing my btech I joined the startup. First one month It was fine and from the second month we saw hell, like we have to stay in office till 10 O'clock sometimes 12, 1, 2 also and work even on Saturdays (compulsory) and sometimes Sundays also. And the pressure was increasing day by day. Then I realized that I did a mistake by joining this startup. So I started searching for job continuing to work as I cannot leave the job due to some other problems. Already my communication skills are poor in Btech and after joining this start up they fell very low. So don't get satisfied by 1 job have at least 2, 3 jobs in your hand in campus itself to be in safe position.

Rejected in accenture due to poor communication skills. So I practiced a lot for 5 days in communication and attended Infosys, I was rejected for that also but did not know the reason as I thought my performance was good.

And then I attended syntel on Nov 11th, first round was asusal written test. Syntel's written test was very tough you have to practice all levels in Indiabix and much more complex sites if possible. The written test (3 sections aptitude, logical and verbal) covered all the aptitude and logical topics in Indiabix not even a single topic was left so prepare all topics and there are no negative marks so first attempt all the questions as time is very less (each section has 30 complex bits and we have to answer in 20 mins which is impossible, so in last 5 mins attempt all the questions other wise the timer will go to next section and you will not be attempting the questions from previous section). Verbal also they covered all the topics in Indiabix.

Honestly believe me if you have cracked written test it's like cakewalk in the next rounds.

2nd round was software related bits test (html, software engineering etc) which is easy as I am from CS background.

And then you'll be divided into group of 5 and given a problem and you 5 ppl have to discuss and draw a flowchart to solution of the problem which is easy. Be active in this they'll be observing secretly.

The person who made you into group of 5 will interview you (may be in group or individual) and ask you to explain the flow chart and questions from your resume. So be careful while preparing resume, put only the topics in which you are confident, he'll ask only basics so be thorough with basics. As I had put css and js in project he asked about project and my role and uses of css, how it is different from html I explained but he was not satisfied. I asked questions from his explanations I think he was impressed with this. And after completing interview I asked feedback as I thought I missed something. He said I was good and as he is busy he said come later.

And the next round is HR,


This is all that matters in HR. You must speak confidently in English that's it, it doesn't matter what you speak just be confident. And answer yes for all the questions like night shifts, any location etc. I did not speak confidently in this round but my communication was good which was told by HR when I asked feedback. He told me to improve confidence and I think asking feedback made me got selected.

I got the result on 9th day from interview, on the day which I am attending TCS drive.

So It's best to have 2-3 jobs in campus itself as you might not know in which role you might be given. So don't be negligent like me and leave the jobs in campus if your luck is bad you have to again attend the interviews which you have left.

And finally one suggestion ask feedback if you think you've missed something. It helps you to improve. And sometimes interviewer may be impressed.
