Syntel Interview experience - Bhopal, August 22, 2014
My online test took place on 5th May 2014. There were 90 questions that were to be solved in 60 minutes, there was no negative marking, Although I came to know about it after I finished my test. So I attempted only 65 questions approximately but all my solutions were correct. Main areas to concentrate for the test are Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability. Three sections of 30 questions each were there & the questions were not too tough according to me but you need practice & time management is really important.
The most important thing to keep in mind is that you will be disqualified if you click more than 5 times on the screen randomly & there will be at least 3-4 surprise questions which are meant for verification & time consumption. So be aware because many of my friends got disqualified because of these reasons.
Now for G.D groups of 10 were formed & they even rejected whole groups because of loud behavior, so don't shout or get carried away because everybody will get a chance.
They told us that they will be judging us on the parameters of communication, leadership, management, knowledge about topic & team work. My G.D topic was '' Difference between Indian education & foreign education''.
2 guys were selected for technical round from my group.
Some other G.D topics were -
''Ganguly or Pointing - better captain''
''Android or Windows''
''Love to hate or Hate to love''.
For my Technical Interview round these questions were asked-
''What languages do you know''
Answered - Only basic knowledge of C.
C is an objective oriented language - yes or no?
What are pointers?
Answered with example & a program.
Asked me about my major project & Industrial training - lots of questions.
Answered all of them with explanation & examples.
Then he asked me what did I do in last 3 months?
I said I took up Accounts just out of curiosity & then he asked 2 questions out of it as well. I answered them as well.
After a technical round of almost 40-45 minutes, I was asked to wait for the result & within 5 minutes I was told that I have to appear for HR round as I cleared the technical round.
For H.R round you need to have great communication skills.
Questions of H.R round. It was sort of a stress interview.
Tell me about your educational background from 10th onwards.
What are your strengths?
What are your weaknesses?
Answer this question very carefully
Do you have any plan to pursue any further education?
I said - Sir as of now I am not planning to pursue any further education because I want to enhance my skills & work for a your company for at least 5 years
Who is Bharat Desai ?
Are you flexible with relocation & night shifts ?
He then asked me - I will pay you 1 lakh rupee per month but your job will be to sweep the broom & clean my office daily. Can you do this?
My Answer : Sir for sweeping the broom you will pay me & I will do the floor washing for free.
He then gave me a puzzle & asked me to solve it in 30 seconds only - Cut a round cake in 8 equal pieces with using knife for only 3 times.
Answered in 2 seconds.
Then he asked me that he will only let me do the work of assembling computers for whole of my life. Will I accept to do so ?
I Answered it nicely & told him that I will accept all the roles & orders given to me by my officials & company. In turn of this he asked me to stand up & jump via window ( It was 4th floor ). I stood up & jumped inside the room.
Then few more general questions & I was asked to wait for my final result.
After 10 minutes I was told '' YOU ARE SELECTED''.
Best of luck guys. Hope this helps you all. Just be confident.
